The first cold weapon appeared long ago and was used for hunting.

But with the development of fire arms it gradually lost its importance.
Today it is used as a supplement to some types of fire arms, as honorary weapon and
as a part of traditional uniform and national costumes.

A lavalier is a type of jewelry, consisting of a pendant suspended from a necklace.
A lavalier is named for the type of pendant popularized by the Duchesse de la Valliere,
a mistress of King Louis XIV of France.
Within the fashion world, the name was eventually shortened to "lavalier".
The lavalier can be recognized most for its drop that usually consist of a stone
or a chandelier type of drop which is attached to the chain and not attached by a bale.
